Equipment and Its Working Principle

Heat soak furnace is composed of chamber body, movable dolly, heating system, cooling system, and control system.

The chamber body is of full steel outer casing construction and inner casing with stainless steel sheet. Insulating materials are of high quality material with perfect performance.

The door is of double side hinged and manually open and close.

There is movable glass dolly in oven. Pull the dolly out by hand and load the glass, then push it back into oven.

The furnace equipped with Five circular air route at both side of the oven and has high temperature blower for each circular air route, which is fixed on top of the machine. Circulating air route is of sidewall up-down type structure, with an aim to remove cullet in the chamber bottom and to check, repair and install the electrical heating element which is installed in the air route. Electrical heating elements are installed in the air route at both side of the oven. Each route has its thermocouple to detect the temperature. The blowers can make the air inside the oven circulate to heat up the glass on the dolly.

Cooling system is composed of blower, air suction duct, fan and air blowing duct. The air inlet fan is connected with the air blowing duct, which can blow cold air in the oven, the blower can take hot air out  through air suction duct.

sub air ducts are distributed at both side of the oven.

Control system includes blower control and temperature control. The full procedure automatic control is adopted for temperature control. Computer is fixed on the control cabinet which is beside the furnace.

Purpose For Heating Tempered Glass

Nickel Sulfide (NiS) has been known to be the cause of spontaneous burst in tempered glass. During tempering the nickel sulfide is transformed to the high temperature β-phase (T380℃) and has no time to return to the β-phase on quenching. With the passage of time NiS slowly inverts to the lower temperature β-phase with an increase in volume of about 4%. This volume expansion may cause glass breakage. Heat soak treatment can convert NiS from β-phase to β-phase stable in your tempering plant.
